Expansive grounds and the magic
of nature abounds
throughout the private, gated enclave,
as the compound consists of
a working organic farm,
numerous residences, a large studio/
gallery/ reception building,
a plethora of amenities
and the breath of space
to amply service and separate the activities.

Beyond the gates of this creative community lies
the rest of the island of Maui: An island of exponential
and exceptional beauty and awe. Paradise found
and to be enjoyed.

The Studio
is the largest building
on the property, and is considered
the heart of the retreat. The ceilings
soar and the space opens up, as
you walk into the main room and
view the incredible vistas that fall
at your feet.

The dramatic coastline,
the rhythm of the waves, and the
endless horizon, viewed from
three hundred feet straight up the
face of a cliff, provides a pedestal
for this very special place.

Within its walls is a large function room
that serves as art studios, gallery,
workshop, and reception hall, depending on need.
This is where instruction is often conducted,
seminars held, and events staged staged. It is where
residents gather to exchange stories, spark ideas,
engage in light conversation and lofty visions.

By concentrating all of this activity
in one location, the owners are able
to control the ambience of the community,
while providing for a source of creativity,
resource, enrichment, and enlightenment.

Residents enjoy their own private
studio space, as part of the Farm's accomodations,
however, The Studio is also available to them to work,
congregate, collaborate, or contemplate in.
As a member of the Artists’ Retreat,
all workshops, events, and
seminars are open to them,
free of charge.

The Studio also provides accommodations
for a variety of artists involved in the
Artists in Residency program.
Emerging artist in visual, literary,
and creative-thinking arts aer encouraged
to apply. The beauty of the space is its
versatility and separation of activities,
making it organic and flowing –
aiding and abetting in the nourishment of
the creative genius.

The Huelo Point Flower Farm
- Artists' Retreat
is situated on the down slope
of Hale'akala, and ancient volcano
that rises over ten thousand feet
above sea level, and abruptly ends
at three-hundred foot cliff;
a prehistoric bastion against the mighty
and majestic Pacific Ocean.

Millenniums of erosion and tropical growththat rises
have resulted in a fertile soil full of life.
A healthy soil.

The farm has been carved out of the jungle,
and is working toward self-sufficiency.
Organic practices and a rich biodivertisty,
is productively yielding a bounty rich in flowers,
fruits, vegtables, and herbs.

Hundreds of species are nutured
and cultivated on this blessed plot of land,
and are grown using ancient and modern methods and techniques. The richness of the soil, the passing trade showers, and sun- kissed leaf makes this farm a growers' paradise, as an endless variety of crops are rotated and harvested in delicious and delightful succesion. Residents are welcomed, but definitely not required to engage in the meditative tending
of the gardens and pleasures of the harvest.

Advanced methods in fertilization and insect cotrol
reveal a symbiotic relationship that adds to the rythm
and harmony of the farm, excluding a peace and tranqulity
throughout the entire compound, as the nurturing
of the garden and the enjoyment of the harvest
honors the body and lifts the spirit.

Farm activities are relatively
quiet enterprises,
and at a distance
from the residences.
The buildings are separated
from these activities
by design and nature,
and are positioned to take
full advantage of this special place on earth.

this part of Maui is not your typical tourist area,
and is accessible by invitation only. The weather
is a delightful mix of warm temperatures
and cool trade wind breezes. The area is considered remote,
however the conveniences of modern civilization
are abundantly and tastefully met.
